Amelia Island Kayak Excursions is a family-owned outfitter based in historic Fernandina Beach, offering guided paddles through local estuaries, marshes, and river systems. With knowledgeable naturalist guides, high-end Hobie kayak...
Mark and his family run a genuinely impressive kayaking operation that's earned perfect marks from hundreds of guests. Their knowledge of the local waterways, wildlife, and history really stands out - guides remember everyone's names, share fascinating details about the ecosystem, and create a welcoming atmosphere that works beautifully for first-timers and experienced paddlers alike. The main tours explore peaceful Lofton Creek with its ancient cypress trees and calm waters, plus they offer trips to Cumberland Island where you might spot dolphins, sea turtles, and wild horses. The thoughtful touches make a difference: chilled water bottles waiting in each kayak, mid-trip snacks, and photos shared after the tour at no extra charge. Families appreciate how accessible these trips are, with 7-year-olds handling the route comfortably and even toddlers getting special accommodation. The pace keeps things moving but stays relaxed, with shaded stretches providing relief on hot days. One guest wished for more breaks, though most found the timing just right. Madison, Aaron, and the rest of the guide team get consistently praised for being friendly, funny, and deeply informed about everything from local plants to area history.
Amazing kayak tour to Cumberland Island. Guide was very skilled and very informative! Had the best time! We saw dolphins, a loggerhead turtle and many horses out on the island. The walking tour of the island was also really great. Good pace and I learned a lot about the history of the island and all its inhabitants.
