Tina, Bob, and the rest of the staff here have built a reputation for going above and beyond, whether that means saving a wedding day when things go sideways or patiently guiding a nervous six-year-old through her first trail ride. The guided horseback experiences consistently draw praise for knowledgeable, friendly guides, and guests staying in the cabins tend to love the peaceful setting, comfortable beds, hot tubs, and easy access to nearby attractions like Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. A handful of reviews do mention inconsistencies with cabin upkeep, including one report of cleanliness issues and a broken hot tub, so it may be worth reaching out ahead of time to confirm your specific unit is in good shape. Cell service and internet can be spotty, which most guests seem to embrace as part of the experience. Overall, this feels like a place that shines brightest for groups, reunions, and weddings, with the natural scenery and attentive staff leaving a lasting impression on most who visit.
Bob went above and beyond. We stayed with our horses using both an RV site and the Red barn for lodging. When a massive storm front was coming through, we were worried about our horses in their open-air stalls. Bob hauled a lean to over for them. The Red Barn was a phenomenal family house for 6 of us. Everyone was helpful. We rode the Mickelson trail right from the ranch
