Tucked amid the rolling hills of Sweetwater Valley, this multigenerational dairy turns its own pasture-fresh milk into award-winning cheddar, gouda, and curds that capture the flavor of Tennessee. Sweetwater Valley Farm oversees e...
This charming farm destination consistently wins visitors over with its standout cheese selection and friendly cafe. The cheese shop is clearly the star attraction here, with multiple reviewers calling it the best part of their visit and raving about the variety of flavors available. The onsite cafe serves up memorable treats like peach milkshakes and what some say is the absolute best grilled cheese around. It's become a popular spot for a quick visit or leisurely day trip, combining a market, gift shop, and food options all in one place. Tours are available but tend to be on the pricier side for what's included, and they're not always running. One visitor had an unfortunate experience with a moldy croissant, though staff did attempt to fix the situation. That said, the overall vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Most people leave happy with their cheese purchases and cafe experience, making it a solid choice if you're looking for quality local products and homemade goodies in a casual farm setting.
We really enjoyed visiting and doing the tour to see the robotic milking machine, the cattle and the cheese tasting. David, our tour director was not only outstanding at explaining all the details of the milking operation and details on the cows, his humor was very appreciated! Everyone at the farm was extremely friendly and made us feel most welcome. After tasting most of the 30 different variations available we did end up purchasing 2, smoked habenero and black pepper. We strongly suggest anyone interested in farm life, milk production, cheese making, etc., take the time to visit Sweetwater Valley Farm. It really was extremely educational and informative. A very enjoyable experience.
