Jim and Lindsay run a tight, welcoming operation on the French Broad River near Marshall, NC, and the reviews reflect exactly that. They're hands-on owners who take time with first-timers, give thorough safety briefings, and stay responsive if anything goes sideways on the water. One reviewer had their tube deflate mid-trip and had a replacement in hand within minutes. That kind of attentiveness shows up consistently across the feedback. The 5-mile tubing trip seems to be the crowd favorite, offering a solid mix of gentle rapids and relaxed floating through beautiful scenery. Groups of all sizes, from young families to parties of 20-plus, seem to have no trouble getting sorted out. Free photos and video at the takeout is a nice bonus most people don't seem to expect. Oh, and the two dogs, Willie and Waylon, paddle out with the guides and have apparently earned their own fan base. If you're planning a trip from somewhere like Pigeon Forge or Asheville, it's about an hour out but consistently described as well worth the drive. Reservations are recommended since walk-ins can sometimes be accommodated but aren't guaranteed. For anyone looking for a more personal, smaller-group experience on the river, this one is hard to beat.
Had a great time today doing the 5 mile trip down the river. Would highly recommend Mad Co Tubing, they were so nice and it was easy with the their help in and out. They also took pictures and videos as well were coming in. Came from where we were staying in pigeon forge, took about an hour, so worth it!!
