Wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the weather; shoes with traction work best since you’ll be standing and shooting for most of the trip. For daytime bowfishing, bring polarized sunglasses to reduce glare. You can also bring snacks and drinks (no meal is provided), and you may bring a small cooler.
Jones Sport Fishing has built a loyal following, with many guests returning for their third, fourth, and even more trips. Guides Brett, Barry, Joe, and Keith each bring deep local knowledge to the water, whether that's navigating the Clearwater for spring salmon, targeting walleye, or putting clients on monster sturgeon. Challenging conditions like cold fronts, high water, and strong winds come up occasionally in reviews, but guides consistently adapt and still find fish, which says a lot about their experience level. A couple of details stand out beyond just the fishing itself. Several reviewers specifically praised the shore lunches, with Brett's burgers earning a shout-out by name. Joe is described as someone who makes you feel like you're fishing with an old friend, and that relaxed, personable approach seems to run across the whole team. If you're planning a guided trip in the Pacific Northwest, this crew is clearly worth a serious look.
We had a party of four that was reserved for hells canyon but we unfortunately needed to ask to fish closer to Boise. When I called Dani and Brett they were accommodating and understanding to say the least and we were all set to fish CJ Strike. Everything from there was an absolute blast with Brett!! All four of us caught one or two and we got two big 8ft+ ones!! We were all sturgeon virgins as Brett called it haha and things got exciting real quick!! We’ll be sure to do an annual trip with Brett and his crew. What an experience!!
