With a stellar reputation built on consistently putting guests on fish, this Homer charter operation runs a professional outfit with multiple captains and boats. Captain Brian, Captain Ally, Jay (the "Bearded Pirate"), and Captain Finn all get specific shout-outs for their expertise and friendly approach. The crew really shines here—deckhands like Anna, Neveah, and Michael earn repeated praise for keeping lines untangled, helping with catches, and making everyone feel welcome. Guests regularly report limiting out on halibut even late in the season when expectations are lower, plus bonus catches of rockfish, cod, and various salmon species. The fleet includes both larger vessels like the Irish (which can handle 16+ passengers) and smaller boats for more intimate trips. Most reviewers highlight the professionalism from check-in through the safety talk to the actual fishing, with captains willing to share knowledge and answer questions. One negative review mentioned a trip being outsourced to a different provider with timing issues and overcrowding, though they still praised the captain and crew. First-timers and experienced anglers alike seem to have excellent days on the water, making this a solid choice for Homer fishing charters.
What a great day! Cap’n Brian and the two deckhands were the best! We booked a last minute 1/2 day halibut charter and North Country delivered! Being super late in the season we weren’t getting our hopes up too high but everybody on the boat hit their limit on halibut (and caught a whole bunch of black cod to boot!). The whole operation is super professional and I highly recommend them!
