Enjoy summit walks, crater views, and included snacks with a morning or sunset option
5 hrs
Snacks, Water, Reef-safe sunscreen
Ascend from sea level to Haleakala’s 10,000 ft summit for short walks, sweeping crater views, and island vistas. Traverse changing landscapes and spot native flora and birds along the way.
This excursion requires a minimum of two participants and is open to all ages; children two years old and under may ride free. Guests should be prepared for summit temperatures in the 40s with windy conditions, so wearing layered clothing and sturdy walking shoes is recommended. Departures are available in the morning at 7:45 a.m. or in the afternoon for a sunset experience between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., with the total duration lasting approximately five hours. When booking, please include where you are staying in the notes section and indicate if there are children in your party, along with their ages. All participants must be capable of walking one mile on uneven terrain, as the tour operates at a high altitude, which may cause breathing difficulties or complicate certain health conditions. Guests with respiratory or heart conditions must obtain medical clearance prior to participating, and pregnancy must be disclosed to ensure safety. Additionally, visitors are required to inspect their footwear and remove any dirt, debris, or seeds before entering the tour vehicle.
Full refund with 48 hours notice. Full refund if operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price.

The guides here bring serious local expertise and personality to Road to Hana tours. Gus, Yvonne, and Kea get consistently glowing praise for their deep knowledge of Maui's history, culture, and hidden gems. They drive the challenging roads expertly (a real relief on those narrow switchbacks), stock the vehicles with snacks and water, and genuinely engage with guests rather than just pointing out attractions. Reviewers love that guides join activities like waterfall swims and rock jumping, help capture great photos, and introduce travelers to local animal friends and roadside fruit stands along the way. The private tours in convertible Broncos seem particularly popular, giving families and couples flexibility to customize their itinerary. Guides listen to what guests want to see and add their own recommendations based on years of experience. Multiple reviewers mention guides who've done the route over 1,000 times, which shows in their ability to time stops perfectly and avoid crowds. Jasmine in the office also gets kudos for being accommodating with scheduling and weather adjustments. Families appreciate how well the guides connect with kids of all ages, answering endless questions with patience and enthusiasm that keeps everyone engaged throughout these long, full-day adventures.
We had an amazing Road to Hana tour with Kea! Kea was very friendly, kind, and knowledgeable! Since it was our first time to Maui, we chose the private All the Way Around tour in the Bronco. Everything was perfect! Kea, thank you for sharing your world with us and making our trip to Maui a memorable one! Mahalo! A hui hou!
