Minimum age is 12, and anyone under 18 must have a legal guardian sign. You must be willing and able to wear a helmet and PFD, follow instructions, and self-rescue if needed in rocky Class III/IV whitewater. Helmet fit is up to 62 cm head circumference and PFD fit is up to a 56-inch chest size.
More than 30 days before your trip date: a $10 per person cancellation fee is retained. 30 days or less before your trip date: you forfeit the entire cost of your trip. Customers receive a full refund or credit if the operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows are charged the full price.
Where do I check in and park?
Registration takes place at 7 Main St. in Charlemont, Massachusetts. You can park in the unpaved lot and head up the stairs to the kiosk outside the red building, where guides will direct you to the appropriate pavilion.
What happens if I arrive late?
Please arrive on time so the trip can start punctually. If you are late, you may not be able to be accommodated, and late arrivals are not refunded.
Do I need to sign a waiver before the trip?
Yes. Each member of your party needs to sign a waiver before arriving. Participants under 18 must also have a parent or legal guardian sign.
What should I wear on the river (and what should I avoid)?
Plan for everything you bring on the raft to get wet. Do not wear cotton; in cooler weather, wool or synthetic layers (polypropylene, nylon, fleece) are suggested under the provided wetsuits. You must wear sneakers or other shoes that can be secured to your feet if you don’t use the provided river booties (no flip-flops or Crocs).
Do you run trips in the rain, and can the trip change due to conditions?
Activities run regardless of the weather, and river conditions can vary. The operator reserves the right to modify or move a trip when deemed necessary. Weather-related cancellations are made just prior to the trip start time; if the operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, customers receive a refund or credit.
