Run Yellowstone River whitewater in a small boat for 2–3 guests
2-3 hours
2-3 people
Guide, river gear
Paddle through the whitewater section of the Yellowstone River in a small boat with 2–3 guests plus a guide. You’ll get a more hands-on ride with quicker maneuvering and bigger wave impacts than a standard raft.
Minimum 2 participants required. Max total guest weight per boat is 525 pounds and personal flotation devices fit up to a 56-inch chest. Gratuities are not included.
Trips typically run rain or shine. If the operator cancels the trip, you can reschedule or receive a refund. If you cancel within 48 hours of your trip time, cancellation policies apply. Any changes to a pre-booked reservation may be subject to price changes. Gratuities not included.
Dress to get wet. May–June and late September: wear a swimsuit under the provided wetsuit; you can also use a splash jacket and neoprene booties. July–early September: wear lightweight shorts/pants and a T-shirt (a swimsuit underneath works well). Avoid jeans, sweat suits, or heavy cotton, and don’t wear sandals without a back strap.
Keep total guest weight per boat at 525 pounds or less. You must fit in a personal flotation device up to a 56-inch chest size, have basic mobility, be in reasonably good physical condition, and follow guide directions.
Pregnant women aren’t permitted on trips. If you have health concerns, consult a physician before booking.

With a near-perfect rating that actually holds up in the details, this outfitter delivers consistently stellar adventures right by Yellowstone. The guides clearly make the experience—names like Josie, Jordan, Ingram, Addie, Emily, and the zipline crew (Gecko, Slayer, Mia, Gray) come up repeatedly for being knowledgeable, safety-focused, and genuinely fun. People rave about how comfortable they felt, even first-timers and those conquering fear of heights. The staff shares local wildlife facts, history along the river, and even restaurant recommendations that enhance the whole trip. The rafting trips vary by season and water levels, so manage expectations accordingly. Some visitors found it more of a scenic float than an adrenaline rush, though the more challenging routes deliver consistent Class 2 and 3 rapids. One reviewer noted front desk service felt less warm on a return visit after a weather cancellation, but that's a minor blip in an otherwise glowing pattern. The professional photos are apparently worth getting. Both activities work great for families, first-timers, and thrill-seekers alike, with excellent safety protocols throughout.
We Zipped, We Laughed! Our group of three (two thrill-seeking adults and one pint-sized adventurer) had an absolute blast ziplining with Whitewater in Montana! The experience was unforgettable—kind of like flying, but with gravity still keeping one hand on your shirt collar. Major kudos to our guides, Sailor and Gray—these two were not only super knowledgeable (did you know ziplining burns approximately zero calories but 100% of your stress?), but they also kept us entertained with cool facts and great energy. They made us feel safe and stoked from start to finish. Honestly, if ziplining had a Hall of Fame, they’d be in it. Now, we have to mention our first scheduled tour was cancelled due to lightning. Not ideal, but hey—Mother Nature's got jokes too. ("You wanted an electric thrill? Here's a literal one.") Safety first, and we totally get it. On our return visit, though, the front desk vibe had cooled a bit. The first time around, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The second time? Let’s just say they weren’t quite channeling the same “Montana nice.” Maybe they missed their morning coffee or got caught in a lightning mood hangover. Either way, a smile goes a long way, y’all! Still, the adventure itself totally delivered. Ziplining through Montana’s stunning scenery? 10/10 would recommend—even our kid couldn’t stop grinning, and that’s saying something in the age of WiFi.
