Patti, Palmer, Dean, and the rest of the crew here have built a genuinely strong reputation among divers of all experience levels. Palmer in particular gets mentioned constantly, whether guiding first-timers through open water certification or working with advanced divers on divemaster training. The team's patience comes up again and again, and it reads as authentic rather than performative. The boat is kept clean, gear is well-maintained, and the safety-first culture is clearly taken seriously without making the experience feel rigid or stressful. Long-time divers keep coming back, and first-timers regularly book extra days because they're having too much fun to stop. That kind of loyalty says a lot about the consistency here. One reviewer noted some frustration around being grouped with less experienced divers during a refresher course, which affected their bottom time, so it's worth communicating your experience level clearly when booking to make sure expectations are aligned.
Went down to Key West to bring my newly Scuba certified son to dive paradise and it did not disappoint . Captain Drew and 1st Mate Palmer were awesome and could not have been more helpful, Accommodating and pleasant to be around. We dove two straight days with them and they put us on some beautiful reefs the 1st day including Sand Key Lighthouse and on the 2nd day we did a Night dive at 9 Foot Stake where we saw plenty of bioluminescent, a sea turtle, Many lobsters and many friendly fish. Front the cheerful greeting at the storefront to the killer sunset Captain Drew put us on to Palmers total joy in his career we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We will be coming back often to Southpoint Divers and Highly recommend them to anymore certified or wanting to be certified in Scuba or anyone who wants to do a one day Resort style course. They will not disappoint
