Discover five rooms and 1,100 feet of active formations on a one-hour tour in a historic Texas cave
1 hour
Explore Cascade Caverns on a one-hour Daily Downunder tour through five rooms of the upper level filled with active formations. Learn the cave’s history and see striking features sculpted over millions of years.
Same-day reservations are not available; tickets may be purchased in person on a first come, first served basis. Single-person tours are not offered; solo visitors should join an existing tour.
Visitors will descend about 100 stairs into the cavern and will climb the same stairs when exiting. Handrails are available along most of the stairway. The cavern environment is naturally wet, so stairs may be slippery. Closed-toe shoes with good traction are recommended. About one-third of the way through the cavern, there is a low section with a ceiling height of approximately 4 feet 3 inches. Guests must crouch to pass through this area on both the way in and out.
Full refund with 24 hours’ notice. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. No-shows are charged the full price. Cancellations within 24 hours may be rebooked to a different date. Online rebooking is allowed; prices may change.
Same-day reservations close a few hours before tours begin. If reservations are closed, you can still buy tickets in person on a first come, first served basis.
Single-person tours aren’t offered. If you’re visiting solo, book a tour that other guests have already signed up for.
Arrive 15 minutes before your tour start time. If you arrive more than 5 minutes past the hour of your tour, you may not be able to join that tour.

This spot has built a devoted following thanks to its naturally preserved feel and genuinely enthusiastic staff. Tour guides like Ireland, Stingray, and Dani get called out repeatedly for being knowledgeable and fun, clearly passionate about what they do. The cavern itself stays intentionally less developed than some commercial caves, meaning you'll explore with flashlights and navigate uneven paths with puddles, which most visitors find adds to the adventure rather than detracting from it. The wildlife sightings are a real bonus: bats hanging from the ceiling, cave salamanders, and other creatures make appearances regularly. Tours run about 45 minutes to an hour and feel intimate, sometimes with just a handful of people. Beyond the cave tours, there's a surprisingly nice RV campground on-site with full hookups, shaded spots, and wooded trails. The consensus is clear: this feels more like authentic exploration than a highly polished tourist attraction, and that's exactly what keeps people recommending it. Just know the natural terrain means it's better suited for those steady on their feet rather than very young kids or anyone with mobility concerns.
Great tour and beautiful cave! An excellent way to spend an hour. They also have a more adventurous tour they do where you can down ladders way deeper in the earth and see where the water flows into the aquifer. You can swim in the aquifer if you want as well. I had them add my name to the list of potentially interested people at the main office. From Indiana and may well come back to camp at the campground and have some fun in the nature!
