Get hands-on in the soil and bring home fresh-picked potatoes
30 mins
U-Pick field entry, container
Explore U-Pick potato fields and get your hands in the dirt. Discover how potatoes grow while spending time outdoors at a working farm.
###How Does It Work? Stop by the Potato tent to check in; then it's time to dig: using a small shovel, spading fork, or shovel, dig into the soil around the outside edges of the plant. Gently lift the plant and remove the potatoes. Fill up your busket to take your bounty home and cook 'em up.

Abma's Farm, 700 Lawlins Rd, Wyckoff, NJ 07481
This beloved Bergen County farm has been creating fall memories for families spanning generations, and it's easy to see why visitors keep returning year after year. The petting zoo delights kids and adults alike with its friendly menagerie of goats, alpacas, highland cows, donkeys, and even emus. Families rave about the hayrides and pumpkin picking experiences, and many mention the farm market's exceptional baked goods, especially the apple cider donuts and chocolate frosted donuts that have developed quite a following. The wine tasting room adds an adult-friendly element, with staff like Pamela earning specific praise for their warmth and knowledge. The atmosphere gets consistently high marks for its authentic farm charm and fall vibes. Fresh produce, local products, and a good selection of pumpkins and flowers round out the offerings. While parking can require some patience during busy times, the overall experience seems to justify any minor inconveniences. The petting zoo remains affordable with reasonably priced animal feed, and there's plenty of shade for comfort. This is the kind of place that works equally well for a quick farm market visit or a full afternoon of family activities.
