Drift-boat river fishing for fall Chinook salmon in Oregon
8 hours
Gear, bait & tackle, Life jacket
Fish for Chinook (King) salmon on a guided river trip from a drift boat on select Oregon river systems. Use light tackle or fly gear and spend the day drifting and casting with your guide.
You need an Oregon fishing license plus a Combined Angling Tag for salmon anglers.
Cancellation is required 14 days in advance in order to receive a refund. No shows will be charged the full amount of charter.
Bring warm, layered clothing and comfortable shoes. Pack lunch and snacks, plus a hat, gloves, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen (and lip ointment), and a camera if you want photos.
Waders are recommended so you can get out of the boat and fight a fish from the bank, and they can also work as rain gear from the waist down. For wading boots, felt- or rubber-soled boots are suggested.
Your guide provides all required fishing equipment, including rods and reels, bait, tackle, and a life jacket.
Meeting locations for trips varies depending on the river being fished on the day of your trip (Millicoma, Elk, Sixes, South Coquille and Umpqua River systems).
Captain Curt and his crew have built a strong reputation out of Coos Bay, and the reviews make it clear why. Trip after trip, guests are hitting limits on rockfish, lingcod, and Dungeness crab, often in just a couple of hours. Curt knows the water well, moves spots when the bite slows, and doesn't call it until everyone has their fish. The deckhand crew, including Don, Manny, and Leif in recent trips, are consistently praised for being hands-on and genuinely helpful, especially with kids and first-timers. The add-on crab cooking and cleaning service gets mentioned repeatedly as a highlight worth every penny. Families with young children have had great experiences, and even a trip cancellation due to rough seas was handled with patience and professionalism. If you're heading to the Oregon coast and want to come home with a cooler full of quality seafood, this crew is a reliable bet.
