Pizza tastings, Pizzeria tours
Trace the evolution of New York pizza in Greenwich Village as you visit three standout pizzerias. Meet the makers, taste full slices, and learn how styles and ovens shaped the city’s slice culture.
Tours run rain or shine and cover about 1 mile. Wheelchair accessible; restrooms available at pizzerias. Group size up to 16; public tours feature cheese pizzas and do not provide vegan or gluten-free slices.
Where do I meet my guide?
The Greenwich Village Pizza Walk starts at John's of Bleecker Street (278 Bleecker St). There's another pizzeria across the street called Bleecker Street Pizza, but that's not where the tour starts.
What if I'm late?
Tours start on time. We're at the first pizzeria for about 30 minutes and routes vary after that, so please arrive on time or you may miss the tour.
What should I bring?
Bring a refillable water container. It's a good idea to bring cash if you'd like to purchase drinks along the way or tip your guide.
Is the tour accessible?
This tour is wheelchair accessible. Restrooms are available to customers at most pizzerias.
Cancel more than 48 hours in advance. For cancellations within 48 hours, you may be added to a Last Minute List to join another tour if space opens less than 24 hours in advance. Cancellations must be submitted before the tour begins.

Discover what we've curated for you
This tour consistently delivers way more than just good pizza. What stands out most is how genuinely passionate and knowledgeable the guides are about pizza history, techniques, and NYC culture. Whether you get Scott himself, Nate, David, Eddie, or Dan, reviewers rave about their expertise and enthusiasm. They dive deep into dough science, oven types, and the origins of different styles, turning what could be a simple tasting into a fascinating educational experience. The tours visit three different pizzerias that showcase distinct styles, and guests appreciate learning the nuances between them. Both walking tours (like the SoHo & Greenwich option) and the bus tour spanning multiple boroughs get glowing feedback. Families enjoy it, locals discover new insights about their own city, and visitors get an authentic slice of NYC. As a bonus, you'll leave with pizza recommendations from your guide and fellow tour-goers, plus apparently a handy pocket pizza book. It's the kind of experience that has people booking second tours.
