Build practical rock rescue skills using the gear you normally carry for a day of climbing. Rock Rescue 101 focuses on getting you and your partner out of trouble in a single-pitch, cragging scenario.
A Montana Conservation Licence is required for trips to Point of Rocks. Meet at 8:00 at Grouse Mountain City Park in Whitefish and plan to provide your own transportation.
Full refund if canceled 14 days in advance. If conditions (weather, ice, snow) don't allow climbing or skiing, a full refund will be given. Refunds are direct refund minus a 3% processing fee applied by the booking company.

Bring layers for the forecasted weather (sunshirt, windbreaker, rain jacket, puffy jacket), sunglasses, sunscreen, optional insect repellent (May–August), lunch and snacks, water, approach shoes, climbing shoes, and optional belay gloves. Also bring a 30–50L backpack, a modern harness with a belay loop, 4–6 locking carabiners (large pear-shaped), 6 non-locking carabiners, a “Guide” style belay device, optional Petzl GriGri (or similar), a prusik cord, a double-length sling (48"/120cm), 1–2 cordelettes (6–7 mm, 16–20' accessory cord), and an optional long sling (180cm or 240cm).
