Fish offshore for albacore tuna on a 10-hour charter from Charleston
10 Hours
Up to 6 people
Tackle, bait, bottled water
Head offshore from Charleston for a full-day albacore tuna charter, typically 15–50 miles out in summer. Troll for tuna, with jigging or live bait sometimes an option depending on the season and boat.
Ages 7+ and 10-hour duration. A fishing license is required and not included; a day license is currently $23 and can be purchased the morning of the trip at the charter office. Fish processing is an extra $9 per fish for filleting, and crab steaming is not included; trips are weather dependent.
Cancellations with less than 7 full days' notice and no-shows at the dock will be charged the full amount of the trip reserved.
If tuna aren’t available due to weather, distance, or migration timing, you may still fish that day and switch to another species that’s catchable at the time (such as salmon or rockfish). The trip price may be adjusted, and if further changes are needed you’ll be contacted before your booked date to discuss options.
Bring a one-day angling and shellfish license; it isn’t included in the trip. You’ll need to show the license the morning of your fishing trip.
Fish filleting is an extra fee of $9 per fish. You can also choose to drop your fish off at a cannery for custom canning. Crab steaming isn’t included.
Families and serious anglers alike rave about the captains here, particularly Captain John, who consistently gets mentioned for his knowledge, hard work, and ability to put people on fish. The fleet handles everything from crabbing and salmon to halibut and tuna trips, with guests regularly reporting full limits and memorable catches. Several reviewers specifically praise how accommodating the crew is with kids and elderly family members, making this a solid choice for multi-generational outings. The fish cleaning service at the dock gets high marks for expert filleting and proper packing. The operation runs multiple boats with different captains including Josh, Murray, Dylan, and Silas, and experiences seem consistently positive across the crew. Most trips follow a well-organized rhythm, and the boats are described as clean and properly equipped. One thing to note: the tuna "flex" trips may switch to other species if conditions aren't right, and you'll be charged either way, so read the fine print if you're set on a specific fish. A few scattered complaints about communication and deposit issues pop up, but the overwhelming majority of recent guests had excellent experiences and plan to return.
I booked the Rockfish/ling cod trip and added crabbing. Very happy with the trip! We got plenty to fill our freezer up.
