- A $15 per person backcountry permit fee is not included in the listed price and is collected in cash by Navajo Parks and Rec; cards are not accepted
- Sign the backcountry permit with your authorized guide before entering the canyon
- Bring a seat belt-secured car seat for infants and small children
- Bring toilet paper or napkins and hand-sanitizing wipes; canyon restrooms have no handwashing stations and supplies may be low
- No pets allowed; service dogs are allowed only on 4x4/SUV tours and must be declared on the backcountry permit

Cancel 48 hours before your tour for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours and no-shows incur a $75 fee. Full refund if the operator cancels due to inclement weather.

The tour follows Mountain Daylight Time from March through November, one hour ahead of Phoenix, Flagstaff, Winslow, Page, and Tucson.
Bring a raincoat during monsoon season. In cooler weather, dress in layers and bring a light jacket, sweater, lap blanket, or warm hat. Bring a cooling towel in summer if desired.
