Cruising the Tennessee River on this classic paddlewheel riverboat is a genuinely lovely way to spend an evening in Chattanooga. The crew consistently earns praise for being knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely warm, with staff like Dana and Violet drawing specific shoutouts for making guests feel taken care of. The views of the skyline, bridges, and Lookout Mountain in the distance make the second half of the journey especially scenic. A few things worth knowing before you book: the gold package with wine on the water gets strong reviews from couples, but the premium charcuterie packages have received mixed feedback, with some guests feeling the quality doesn't quite match the price. There's no A/C on board, which is something to keep in mind during warmer months, though the river breeze tends to keep things comfortable in spring. Families will enjoy the experience too, with the captain occasionally inviting kids up to see the bridge. Overall, the mood on board is relaxed and nostalgic, and the highly rated Overboard Bar and Grill nearby makes for a great way to extend the outing before or after. The consistently high ratings and enthusiastic repeat visitors say a lot about what this crew gets right.
We didn't buy the ticket and take the ride but we did eat at the bar and grill Today we sat a stone's throw away from there, on the bank and watched the fireworks 🎆🎇 and drone show. Happy 250th America! Oh and btw.. my wife and I had our first date on the southern belle riverboat June 08, 2022. It was a lovely time, I highly recommend all who have the opportunity, to do so💯🛳️
