Crack clues on a guided Scaventour walk in Waikiki
1 Hour 15 Minutes
Guide, Game backpack, Clues
Take on Duke's Revenge, an outdoor escape room-style Scaventour on the east side of Waikiki. Follow clues from a locked-pocket backpack as your guide helps you reach each stop along the 1.5-mile course.
This is an outdoor walking game of over 1 mile. There is no dedicated parking since there is no storefront, so plan extra time for traffic and parking.
Cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before start with no penalty. If you cancel within 24 hours, you will be asked to reschedule. No refunds if you can’t reschedule or for no-shows. Groups not showing within 15 minutes of start are no-shows and won’t receive a refund.
Dress comfortably for the weather and plan to walk over 1 mile. Wear comfortable shoes and bring sunscreen and water. If it’s raining, bring an umbrella or poncho. If your game ends after sunset, bring a flashlight (a phone flashlight often works).
No. Your guide assists you in getting to each point, so this is not a navigation or map-reading game.
Your team carries a backpack with locked zipper pockets. You start by opening an unlocked pocket to find a map and your first clue. Each clue helps you unlock the next lock to reveal your next destination and clue (typically within about 150 yards).
The Stones of Life (on Kalakaua near the Duke Kahanamoku Statue across from the Hyatt)
The Stones of Life, also known as the Wizard Stones of Kapaemahu, sit quietly along Waikiki Beach near Kuhio Beach Park, and they serve as one of the most intriguing stops on Duke's Revenge Outdoor Escape Game. These four large basalt boulders are believed to hold the spiritual power, or mana, of four legendary healers who arrived in Hawaii from Tahiti centuries ago. Set against the backdrop of swaying palms and the steady rhythm of the Pacific, The Stones of Life offer a striking contrast to the lively energy of Waikiki, inviting players to pause, look closer, and uncover the layers of history hidden in plain sight.
As you make your way through the self-guided escape adventure, The Stones of Life become more than a photo opportunity. The game weaves clues and puzzles around the site, encouraging you to study the inscriptions, read the surroundings, and connect the legends of the stones to Duke Kahanamoku's own story of Waikiki. You will feel the warm trade winds, hear the distant crash of surf, and notice details most visitors walk right past, from the protective fence around the stones to the nearby statue of Duke himself. Compared with busier stops along Kalakaua Avenue, this corner feels grounded and reflective, a quieter beat in an otherwise vibrant tour.
This stop is perfect for curious travelers, families with older kids, couples looking for a creative date, and small groups of friends who enjoy puzzles with a side of culture. History buffs will appreciate the chance to engage with authentic Hawaiian legend, while casual players will love how The Stones of Life add depth and meaning to a fun outdoor challenge. Whether you are visiting Waikiki for the first time or returning to see it through fresh eyes, solving puzzles beside The Stones of Life is a memorable way to connect with the spirit of the islands and the legacy that shaped this iconic shoreline.
Charlie and his team have created something special here with their puzzle-based scavenger hunts around Waikiki. Reviewers consistently praise the owner's friendly, patient approach, particularly when working with families and large groups. The puzzles themselves hit a sweet spot: challenging enough to be engaging but designed so everyone can complete them at their own leisurely pace. Most groups mention getting in their 10,000 steps while discovering plaques, statues, and historical spots they'd normally walk right past. The experiences work remarkably well across different ages and group types. Parents bring young kids, friend groups celebrate birthdays, and even high school sports teams use them for bonding activities. Popular options like The Lost Key and The Safe take you through Waikiki with 16 clues that blend puzzle-solving with local culture and history. The app is simple to use, and several reviewers note it's mostly shaded from the sun, which makes for a comfortable few hours. People genuinely seem to discover their own neighborhood in new ways, which says a lot about the thoughtful design behind these adventures.
