Guide, gear, river shuttle
Spend 5.5 hours on a guided inflatable kayak trip on the Weber River, launching from Henefer. Float through Red Rock Canyon and Devils Canyon, with a stop at Taggart's Grill for a made-to-order lunch.
Ages 12+ and recommended intermediate skill level. Check in 30 minutes early for the 10:00 am start. A 6-person minimum applies (or the cost equivalent); ask Greetwell how this works for smaller groups.
Optional transportation add-ons cost extra, and guide gratuity is not included (15%–25% is customary).
Small private groups: full refund with 7 days' notice. Full refund if the operator cancels due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable. Schedule changes allowed up to 48 hours before if available. Large/corporate/custom: 50% refundable up to 7 days.
Bring a shirt, shoes, and a credit card or cash to pay your restaurant bill on-site. Lunch is not included.
Wear lightweight, quick-drying clothes (long sleeves and long pants or capris are recommended), plus a hat and sunglasses. Wear water sandals (closed-toe recommended) or old athletic shoes; avoid flip-flops. Bring a full non-breakable water bottle with a clip, any needed medications (and tell your guide), and a rain jacket or warm layer depending on conditions. Leave most other items in your car since anything on the river can get wet, lost, or broken.
No. Arrive 30 minutes before your trip start time for check-in, to get fitted with gear, and to complete the safety talk. Late arrivals usually can’t be accommodated and are non-refundable.
Henefer
Destination Sports consistently earns praise for its exceptional guides who clearly love what they do. Reviewers mention guides by name again and again—Rachel, Lars, Trixie, Dawna, Oz, and Donna all get shout-outs for being knowledgeable, friendly, and skilled at making trips memorable. The crew seems genuinely passionate about sharing outdoor experiences, from river rafting to snowshoeing, and that enthusiasm translates into fun, safe adventures. The rafting trips deserve a quick reality check: this is mellow, scenic floating rather than intense whitewater rapids. One reviewer described it as "a lazy river with a couple bumps," which sets appropriate expectations. That said, families and first-timers absolutely love it, and the beautiful scenery along the Weber River combined with engaging guides makes it a hit. Equipment rentals get solid marks too, with easy pickup and drop-off logistics. The overall vibe is welcoming and accommodating, perfect for travelers wanting a relaxed outdoor experience in the Park City area without major adrenaline or technical difficulty.
Great people, and fun trip! Rachel was a great guide. We had a ton of fun in her boat. If you’re looking for “white water” rafting this isn’t it, but it was still a really fun time. It’s more of a a lazy river with a couple bumps but she made it a great time!
