Ride and hike to Olympic Hot Springs via Glines Canyon
5.5hrs
eBike, helmet, bike lock
Pedal an e-bike from Madison Falls toward Glines Canyon, then hike the final stretch to Olympic Hot Springs in Olympic National Park. This unguided route combines mostly paved riding with an on-foot section beyond Boulder Creek Trailhead.
Ages 16+ (ages 14–15 must meet requirements); riders under 18 must be with an adult age 21+. This route is best for intermediate to advanced riders, and you must be able to lift the bike over a log (~50 lbs). eBike transportation to and from the trailhead is not included; clarify options with Greetwell before booking.
$25 reservation fee per bike. Cancel with 24 hours notice for a full refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee per bike. Full refund if the operator cancels due to severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows are charged the full price.
You must hike part of the route. Olympic National Park does not allow bikes all the way to the hot springs. Ride to Boulder Creek Trailhead (8 miles), lock your bike, then hike the remaining 2.4 miles to the springs on foot.
This is an unguided trip.
Wear closed-toed shoes suitable for biking and hiking. Bring a water bottle, weather-appropriate clothes, snack or lunch, and any daily or emergency medication you use. If you plan to soak, bring swim apparel and a light towel.

Olympic National Park is one of the most ecologically diverse places in the Pacific Northwest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where glacier-carved peaks, old-growth rainforests, and wild coastline all share a single map. The Olympic Hot Springs eBike and Hike route lets you experience a quieter, less-trafficked corner of Olympic National Park, weaving along the Boulder Creek drainage toward natural geothermal pools tucked deep in the forest. Because much of the road beyond the Madison Falls area is closed to private vehicles, an eBike is the perfect way to cover the distance comfortably while still feeling immersed in the park's wild atmosphere.
The journey begins with a smooth eBike ride along a quiet, tree-lined road inside Olympic National Park, with the Elwha River carving its restored course alongside you. You will pedal past mossy bigleaf maples, towering Douglas firs, and the steady soundtrack of rushing water before locking up the bikes and continuing on foot. The hike portion winds through classic Olympic National Park rainforest, where ferns spill across the trail and shafts of light filter through the canopy, ending at the rustic Olympic Hot Springs themselves. The combination of effort and ease, riding then walking, makes the natural pools feel like a true reward earned within Olympic National Park rather than a quick roadside stop.
This route is ideal for active travelers, couples, and curious explorers who want to see Olympic National Park beyond the popular viewpoints like Hurricane Ridge or Hoh Rain Forest. Riders should be comfortable on an eBike and willing to hike a forested trail, but the electric assist opens the experience to a wide range of fitness levels. If you love mixing gentle adventure with the chance to soak in a remote, forest-framed setting, this is one of the most memorable ways to spend a day in Olympic National Park.
The staff here, including team members like Angela, Kyle, Chris, and Dave, consistently get called out by name in reviews, which says a lot about the kind of personal attention renters receive. They take time to properly fit each rider, explain the bikes, and share detailed trail knowledge before you head out. First-timers and experienced riders alike seem to leave feeling well-prepared. The trails are the real draw, whether it's the scenic Spruce Railroad Trail along Lake Crescent or the climb up to the hot springs. Multiple reviewers mention returning year after year, which is about as strong an endorsement as you can get. The bikes are well-maintained and the rental process is smooth, with clear communication from reservation to return. One reviewer noted a faulty battery on one bike and another experienced a flat, but both situations were handled well by the staff. The hot springs trail involves some elevation and the bypass section is noted as more challenging for beginners, so it's worth asking the team for trail guidance when you book. Overall, this is a well-run operation with genuinely enthusiastic staff who clearly care about making the day a good one.
After biking up to the hot springs, I'm glad we rented the e bikes. I'm not sure but I believe his name was David, our bike tech, was incredibly helpful and informative far beyond the bike instructions. The map they had printed was so helpful, take the time and get to the last hot springs, it's worth it. The bikes worked great, they made it easy.
