Boat ride, snacks, water
Explore a mangrove forest by private boat, watching for wildlife as you navigate its waterways.
The tour lasts approximately three hours and is scheduled according to the tide, starting an hour and a half before its peak. Your journey begins at our office, from where you will head to Boca Coronado. From there, the adventure unfolds as you embark on a boat ride through the Térraba mangroves.
This area is home to a diverse array of mangrove species, including the red, black, and white mangroves, as well as the Mangrove Piñuela. Visitors can admire more than five species of mangrove trees, each showcasing their unique flowers and fruits.
As you navigate through the mangroves, you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of bird species, such as gray herons, blue herons, tiger herons, white ibises, and the elusive mangrove hummingbird. Additionally, you may encounter capuchin monkeys, marmosets, raccoons, and even crocodiles. Sightings of these fascinating animals vary, making each tour a unique experience.
Midway through the journey, there is a scenic stop within the mangroves where guests can enjoy a light refreshment, including pastries, fresh fruit, and water, before continuing the adventure.
