Wear comfortable walking shoes for a small amount of walking. Bring a rain jacket or umbrella and warm clothing for outdoor stops in unpredictable mountain weather, plus a small bottle of water.
You’ll have a short break for lunch at Maligne Lake. You can buy lunch at the Maligne Lakehouse Cafe (grab-and-go items like soups, sandwiches, salads, and pastries) or bring your own lunch to avoid potential peak-season lines.
If Parks Canada has Maligne Canyon closed for infrastructure repairs after wildfire damage, you won’t do the short waterfall walk. The tour uses an altered itinerary with a visit to Maligne Lookout and extra time at Medicine Lake, including a short shoreline walk.
