You will need to show one photo ID for your group, and it will be kept as a deposit until you return. Children age 16 to 17 may go out without supervision, but a parent or legal guardian must sign the rental waiver.

Check the weather and bring what you need (for example: a jacket, hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses). Before you check in, finish your pre-water prep: use the restroom, apply sunscreen, and store items in your car. A towel or spare outfit can help since you’ll likely get wet.
Bring one photo ID for your group. The boat house keeps the photo ID as a deposit until you return.

Riva Row Boat House
This spot has built a strong reputation as a go-to weekend activity in The Woodlands, and it's easy to see why. Kayaks and pedal swan boats are the main attractions, and the rental process is consistently described as smooth and hassle-free. Staff members like Xavier and Zabian get personal shoutouts for being friendly, energetic, and genuinely helpful, which says a lot about the team's culture. The waterfront setting doubles as a scenic backdrop, making it popular for both active outings and leisurely strolls. Families with kids have a particularly great time here, and the occasional themed events like kayak easter egg hunts add a fun twist. One reviewer noted receiving a damaged boat without a resolution, so it's worth inspecting your equipment before heading out. Overall though, the experience earns its high marks and draws plenty of repeat visitors.
