Discover what we've curated for you
5 hours
Cool off from the summer heat with a moderate canyoneering adventure in Little Cottonwood Canyon. You will climb up to and rappel down Lisa Falls on a short, scenic approach with instruction throughout.
No experience is necessary as the trip is treated as an instructional outing. Larger groups may be possible by inquiry. Expect your shoes to get wet.
Cancellations more than 30 days before your reservation are eligible to cancel for a full refund (non-private courses require 60 days notice). Cancellations within 30 days (60 days for courses) are 50% refundable. Cancellations within 7 days and no-shows are non-refundable. If the operator cancels due to weather or other reasons, you may reschedule or receive a full refund. Once an outing starts, no refunds are given.
What gear can be provided, and what should I bring?
Climbing harness and helmet can be provided if needed. A rappel device and locking carabiner are included automatically. You should also bring a 20–35L backpack (if needed, inquire in advance), approach/trail running/hiking shoes that will get wet, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), clothing layers (shorts, T-shirt or sun shirt, insulating layer, light rain jacket; rain pants optional), food/snacks for the day, 1.5–2L of water, a phone, and any personal items or medications.
Will my shoes get wet?
Yes—wear approach, trail running, or hiking shoes that you don’t mind getting wet.
When will logistics for the day be confirmed?
The operator will touch base with you in the days leading up to the trip to discuss day-of logistics.
What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?
More than 30 days before your reservation: you may reschedule with no penalty or cancel for a full refund (non-private courses require 60 days notice). Within 30 days (60 days for courses): 50% refundable, or you may reschedule with a 25% fee based on availability. Within 7 days of your reservation and no-shows are non-refundable with no option to reschedule. If the operator cancels due to weather or other reasons, you may reschedule, receive a gift certificate for the value of the outing, or get a full refund.
With a perfect track record across hundreds of reviews, this guide service consistently delivers exceptional outdoor education and adventures. Guides like John (the owner), Adam, Nate, Dan, and Chris earn praise for being both incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely fun to be around. Reviewers appreciate how these professionals balance safety with an approachable teaching style that makes complex topics like avalanche safety and technical climbing accessible to newcomers. The small student-to-teacher ratios really shine through in the feedback, especially for avalanche courses where people felt they received personalized attention while learning critical skills. Families and groups mention smooth communication during booking and guides who adapt well to mixed ability levels, from kids to seniors. Instructors create an open atmosphere where questions are encouraged, and they push students to think independently rather than just following along. Several people specifically mention feeling comfortable during dangerous conditions because their guides took time to explain decision-making processes, not just bark orders.
I attended an SPI course at the City of Rocks. Adam Fleming was my instructor, and I was very impressed. The course was given with excellent structure and timing. Adam has a depth of knowledge that was very apparent.
