Ride beginner Class I–III rapids with shuttle access and scenic Potomac River views
1.5–2 hrs
Tube, Life vest, Shuttle service
Float beginner Class I–III rapids on the Potomac River and take in views of historic Harpers Ferry. Your tubing ticket is an all day pass, so you can float, ride the shuttle back, and go again.
You must be an excellent swimmer; ages 12+; anyone under 18 must be with an adult. Minimum weight 40+ lbs; maximum weight 300 lbs. Wear water shoes, sneakers, or sandals with an ankle strap; no flip-flops. Pets are not allowed; service animals only.
Do I need to fill out a waiver?
Yes. One liability form is required per person. Parents may complete waivers for up to six of their own children. For children not your own, bring a liability form signed by their parent or guardian.
What should I wear?
Wear river sandals with straps or old sneakers. In summer, a bathing suit and nylon shorts work well; add a long-sleeve synthetic layer if needed. In spring and fall, avoid cotton and use quick-dry base layers with fleece; wetsuits and splash tops are available.
Will I get wet?
Yes. Wear clothes you do not mind getting wet or muddy. Leave valuables at home. Phones and cameras should only go in approved waterproof containers.
What should I bring for my trip?
Bring an extra change of clothes and shoes plus a towel for after your float. A bathhouse is available for changing and showers.
What happens if I fall out of my tube?
Wear your PFD, grab your tube, and float through the current. In rapids, lie on your back with feet downstream. Do not stand up in moving current until safe.
What happens if I lose my tube?
Try to retrieve it quickly if safe. Stay with your group and avoid dangerous spots or rapids. If separated, get to shore and wait for calmer water.
No refunds after booking. Activities run rain or shine; trips may be postponed 30 minutes for lightning. If you need to cancel, notify before your scheduled trip time. Operator may cancel for unsafe weather or water levels.

Harpers Ferry Adventure Center
This outfitter really shines when it comes to white water rafting and adventure activities. Guests consistently rave about their guides—Jeremy, Rocky, Logan, Connor, and Andy all get called out by name for being knowledgeable, safety-focused, and genuinely fun to be around. Families particularly appreciate how the staff handles kids, keeping them engaged and safe while teaching them about local history. The facility itself is clean and conveniently located next to a brewery, with food trucks often on site, which is perfect after a day on the water. The riverfront campsites get praise for their gorgeous views too. There are some notable hiccups worth mentioning. Recent reviews show significant confusion around their synthetic ice skating rink—multiple families arrived expecting traditional ice and left disappointed after just minutes. The marketing apparently doesn't make it clear enough that it's plastic tiles, not real ice, which creates a very different skating experience. A couple of reviewers also mentioned last-minute cancellations due to low ticket sales, which is frustrating when you've planned a trip around the activity. One tubing incident resulted in injuries without apparent safety oversight during the float. The core adventure activities like rafting and ziplining seem solid, but set clear expectations if you're booking newer offerings like the ice skating.
We had a great time ice skating! The only problem was that they called us to ask that we move our reservation due to an event. We had zero issues with this, and my husband also double and triple checked with them that we'd be able to eat there after skating as well and that the event wouldn't conflict with our dining plans. He was assured - multiple times - that it would not. We were excited to skate and then eat, but once we had finished skating we went to the main brewery/dining entrance and discovered that the event did, in fact, mean that they would be closing early, and we would not be able to dine there as we were promised. We were rather disappointed by this and had to dine elsewhere. The skating was fun though.
