Tour Itinerary Morning – Hotel Pick-Up & Scenic Drive from Anchorage
Your adventure begins with a comfortable hotel pick-up in Anchorage aboard our Sprinter style van. Sit back and relax as your local guide shares stories about Alaska’s rich history and landscapes. The drive north offers breathtaking views of the Matanuska Valley, The Butte, and glimpses of the distant Knik Glacier—a perfect start to your day of discovery.
Late Morning – Reindeer & Wildlife Encounters
Your first stop is a family-owned Reindeer Farm, where you’ll meet and hand-feed reindeer, moose, and alpacas. This hands-on experience is a favorite among guests of all ages, offering unforgettable photo opportunities and a chance to learn about Alaskan wildlife and farming traditions.
Midday – Explore Hatcher Pass
Next, we journey into the mountains toward Hatcher Pass, one of Alaska’s most scenic alpine routes. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and wildflower meadows, this area offers spectacular photo stops and a visit to the historic Independence Mine site (seasonal). Take time to breathe in the crisp mountain air and capture the magic of true Alaska wilderness.
Afternoon – Lunch & Local Charm in Palmer
We’ll stop in the charming town of Palmer, nestled in the heart of Alaska’s farming region. Enjoy lunch at a local café or bakery, explore the quaint shops, and experience small-town Alaskan hospitality at its best.
Late Afternoon – Nature Walk at Eagle River Nature Center
To close out your day, we’ll visit the serene Eagle River Nature Center, where gentle, well-maintained trails wind through lush forest and mountain scenery. Keep your eyes open for wildlife—moose are frequent visitors! It’s the perfect peaceful ending before your scenic ride back to Anchorage.
Evening – Return to Anchorage
Relax and reflect on your day’s adventure as we return you to your Anchorage hotel or lodging. You’ll carry home new stories, beautiful photos, and an authentic taste of Alaska’s wild beauty—just beyond the city limits.
