Guide, transport, pickup/drop-off
Explore the Icefields Parkway on a full-day guided trip with stops at Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, and the Columbia Icefields. Travel in a small group and take light walks for views, stories, and photo help from your guide.
Minimum age is 12, and guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Some light walking is involved; not recommended for guests with severe mobility impairments. A cleaning fee of $250–$500 may be charged if extra vehicle cleaning is required.
Free cancellation or changes up to 24 hours before start time. Cancellations or changes within 24 hours are not refunded or rescheduled; no-shows are charged in full. Group bookings of 6+ and custom/private tours: 7-day cancellation period.
You must be at least 12 years old to join. Guests under 16 must have a parent or guardian complete the liability waiver.
Expect light walking with optional short hikes. If you prefer not to walk, you can skip the walks and spend time at the Columbia Icefields Centre exhibits.
Dress for unpredictable mountain weather. Bring comfortable walking shoes, a rain jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle (cold water refills are available). A fully charged camera and empty memory card are also recommended.
The guides here consistently earn glowing praise for their knowledge and personality. Names like Bee, Rae, Nolan, Tess, and Aaron come up repeatedly, with travelers appreciating their expertise about local ecology, wildlife, and the best photo spots. These aren't just drivers—they're storytellers who share fun facts and keep the experience engaging while adapting to conditions and visitor needs. Tours cover Banff's iconic destinations like Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, with wildlife sightings (elk, bears, mountain goats) being a regular highlight. Several reviewers specifically mention this works well for those who want to see the area without strenuous hiking or navigating on their own. The guides handle photos, provide local restaurant recommendations, and generally create a relaxed atmosphere. One review did mention a less engaging experience with minimal commentary and basic stops, suggesting guide quality may vary slightly, though this appears to be the exception rather than the rule given the overwhelmingly positive feedback.
