Passengers will deboard for approximately 45-minutes where you can visit The Fruit Company and Mount Hood Winery during the layover. If you have lunch, there are picnic tables outside with mountain views, or you can eat on the train during the return trip of 45 minutes, returning to the depot at 2pm.
All sales are final. No refunds or rescheduling.
Arrive at least 45 minutes before the 11:30am departure for the welcome introduction, time to park, and to get into the depot for pre-boarding entertainment.
Pick up your tickets at the Will Call window at the train station on the day of your ride. Bring your reservation number or confirmation email to show at Will Call.
Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip flops). Dress for the weather since you’ll be outdoors briefly during boarding.

The Polar Express experience here consistently delivers magical holiday memories that captivate kids and adults alike. Families rave about the enthusiastic staff who fully embrace their roles, creating an immersive atmosphere with storytelling, music, hot cocoa, cookies, and a memorable Santa visit. The journey lasts about 90 minutes, which seems to be the sweet spot for keeping everyone engaged without little ones getting restless. The VIP tickets earn special mentions for being worth the upgrade, offering extra perks that enhance the experience. Parents appreciate how well-organized everything is, from arrival to departure, and many note they plan to make this an annual tradition. One small hiccup mentioned was a guest not receiving expected photo opportunities, though this appears to be an isolated incident. Most visitors recommend arriving 45 minutes early to grab coffee and soak in the pre-ride excitement. Even teenagers admit to having fun, which tells you something about the quality of the entertainment.
10 out of 10 experience! We absolutely loved the rail bikes. My only feedback is I wish it was longer because we enjoyed it so much, and it would be helpful to gather everyone together during the safety instructions so it’s easier to hear. The scenery was magnificent, and Mikayla was amazing — down to earth, funny, and kind. The crew was quick turning the bikes around at the switchback, and the fruit company was a beautiful stop. My favorite part was stopping on the tracks with the incredible two-mountain view. Such a unique and memorable experience. We would definitely recommend it!
