See the Legendary Terracotta Warriors Explore all three excavation pits, where over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots, and 670 horses were hand-crafted by 700,000 workers. This vast underground army was created to protect China’s first emperor in the afterlife, then buried and forgotten for centuries. Even today, it is only partially uncovered.
Duration: approx 2 hours
Feast on Rural Shaanxi Comfort Food Sit down to a spread of hearty dishes from rural Shaanxi you won’t find in the city. The menu includes Grandma’s Fried Pancake with smoky chili paste, steamed pork belly coated in toasted rice flour, buckwheat noodles once reserved for emperors, and Jiangshui Yuyu – a classic dish of chewy noodle bites in a tangy broth.
Explore Xi’an’s Ancient City Wall Xi’an’s Ancient City Wall is one of the oldest and most complete military defenses in the world, built wider than it is tall and strong enough to survive centuries of history. Spend time walking (or optionally biking) along the top, with views of moats, archer towers, and the city it was built to protect.
Duration: approx 1 hour
Taste Our Top-Rated Evening Food Tour by Tuktuk Hop into tuktuks and explore hidden corners of the Muslim Quarter for Xian’s most iconic eats: hand-pulled biangbiang noodles drenched in chili oil, BBQ skewers grilled to perfection, soup-filled dumplings with spices from the ancient Silk Road, and gourd chicken – a centuries-old specialty.
Duration: 3.5 hours
Local Craft Beer End the day with a craft beer at a local brewery tucked inside Xian’s city walls – the perfect end to a full day of history, culture, and good eats.

Travel by private van with about 1.5 hours to the Terracotta Warriors and 1.5 hours back to Xian and the city wall. The evening food tour is by private tuktuk, which is open-air and not climate controlled.
Expect 2–3 hours on your feet at the Terracotta Warriors and about 1 hour at the ancient city wall, with uneven surfaces and some stairs.
Portland food tours done right. Guides like Herb, Michelle, and Evangel consistently earn high praise for their genuine enthusiasm, deep local knowledge, and ability to make every guest feel at ease. From Portland's quirky food cart pods to the city's thriving coffee and donut scene, each tour weaves together great food with real stories about the people and neighborhoods behind it. What stands out most across reviews is how often guests mention trying things they never would have ordered on their own, and loving them. Dietary accommodations are handled smoothly, group sizes stay small and social, and the pacing feels relaxed rather than rushed. Locals and visitors alike come away with a fresh perspective on the city. If you're trying to decide between tours, the food cart experience and the coffee and donut tour both draw glowing feedback, each offering something distinct. The guides clearly take pride in what they do, and that energy tends to be contagious. Come hungry and ready to explore.
Wow so much great food and Herb did a great job guiding us around the food cart pods! Our group of 3 so enjoyed everything- from the thai iced tea on the unusually warm day (from Portland) to the el pastor tacos to the chicken swarma and bavarian queen strawberry & cream waffle! Yum! this is the food cart tour to take in Portland for delicious food (with enough to take home for another meal or two!) Next I need to try the coffee and donut tour !
