Sail New York Harbor on a private 2-hour daytime charter
2 Hours
Up to 6 people
Private charter, captain & crew
Set sail on a two-hour private daytime charter in New York Harbor, with your captain and crew aboard a classic sailboat. Take in views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Governors Island, and more.
Recommended ages 5+; children under two are not recommended (but welcome). Passengers 12 and under are required by law to wear life jackets; U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are available for all.
The captain may cancel if weather is inclement (for example, thunderstorms, excessive winds, or rainstorms). The charter will still run in light rain, cloudy skies, and small craft warnings. The captain decides on weather cancellations. Weather forecasts do not qualify for rescheduling.
Dress for safety, comfort, and weather. In spring and fall, wear layers and bring a jacket or sweatshirt (it can feel cooler on the water). In summer, bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Wear soft-soled shoes like boat shoes or sneakers; if you wear hard-soled shoes or high heels, you will be asked to go barefoot for safety.
Yes. Bring your own snacks and drinks, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Keep food simple (snacks or easy-to-eat items like sandwiches) and plan like a picnic, since there is no formal table on board.
Passengers age 12 and under must wear a life jacket while on board. For passengers over 12, life jackets are not required, but the crew strongly recommends wearing one. U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are available for anyone who wants one, including infant life jackets.

Sailing New York Harbor with Captains David, Clark, Beck, and Thomas has become one of those rare NYC experiences that locals and visitors alike rave about. The knowledgeable, personable captains seem to be the real draw here, consistently praised for sharing history, pointing out landmarks, and genuinely making guests feel at ease on the water. Routes typically take in the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Brooklyn Bridge, giving you a perspective of the city that's hard to match from land. The sunset sail stands out as a crowd favorite, with guests noting how magical it is to watch the city shift from daylight to dark from the water. One guest even pulled off a surprise proposal with the captain's help. Little touches like offering blankets on cooler evenings reflect the kind of thoughtfulness reviewers mention repeatedly. The boats themselves also get plenty of love, including one classic vessel from 1964 that adds a bit of historic charm to the whole outing. For anyone looking for a memorable, unhurried way to experience New York, this is a strong choice.
