Private 3-hour sail past the Statue of Liberty from Jersey City
3 Hours
Up to 6 people
Private sail, captain and crew
Set sail on a three-hour private daytime charter on New York Harbor from Jersey City. Cruise with your own group and take in landmark views like the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Recommended ages 5+; children under two are not recommended but are welcome. Passengers 12 and under are required by law to wear life jackets.
Your charter is cancelled if the captain determines weather is inclement (for example thunderstorms, excessive winds, or rainstorms). The charter will still run in light rain and other non-inclement conditions. Charters are not rescheduled due to weather forecasts.
Dress for safety, comfort, and weather. In spring and fall, wear layers and bring a jacket or sweatshirt (it can be cooler at sea than on land). In summer, bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Wear soft-soled shoes like boat shoes or sneakers; if you wear hard-soled shoes or high heels, you will be asked to go barefoot for safety.
Yes. Bring your own snacks and easy-to-eat items like sandwiches, plus alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. Plan like a picnic since there is no formal table on board.
Passengers age 12 and under are required by New York and New Jersey state laws to wear life jackets while on board. Passengers over 12 are not required to wear one, but life jackets are strongly recommended and provided for anyone who wants one. Parents or guardians decide if minors ages 13–17 must wear a life jacket.
Jersey City Liberty Landing Marina
Sailing New York Harbor with Captains David, Clark, Beck, and Thomas has become one of those rare NYC experiences that locals and visitors alike rave about. The knowledgeable, personable captains seem to be the real draw here, consistently praised for sharing history, pointing out landmarks, and genuinely making guests feel at ease on the water. Routes typically take in the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Brooklyn Bridge, giving you a perspective of the city that's hard to match from land. The sunset sail stands out as a crowd favorite, with guests noting how magical it is to watch the city shift from daylight to dark from the water. One guest even pulled off a surprise proposal with the captain's help. Little touches like offering blankets on cooler evenings reflect the kind of thoughtfulness reviewers mention repeatedly. The boats themselves also get plenty of love, including one classic vessel from 1964 that adds a bit of historic charm to the whole outing. For anyone looking for a memorable, unhurried way to experience New York, this is a strong choice.
