Guide, gear, transportation
Spend a half day rock climbing with a professional guide on a trip tailored for families. Build confidence as you problem-solve, support each other, and climb together.
Minimum age is 5. Zion Adventures does not offer long-term customer parking; plan for street parking on Lion Blvd ($12/day) or the nearby gravel lot ($20 cash only).
Cancel more than 14 days in advance for a 95% refund. Cancel within 14 days of the trip date and it is non-refundable. Weather conditions do not permit you to cancel. If your guide determines conditions are unsafe, they will reschedule or try to provide a comparable experience; if not possible, you get a full refund.
Choose this Family Rock Day if your group includes at least one child ages 5–12. If you’re visiting with older children, the Rock Adventure Day is recommended instead.
Bring water (1–2 liters per person), snacks, sun protection, and a camera. Wear closed-toe athletic or hiking shoes. Dress for seasonal conditions: in summer, a synthetic t-shirt with shorts or lightweight pants; in spring/fall/winter, warm synthetic layers with a waterproof jacket and gloves.
Start times are 7:00am or 7:30am, or 1:00pm or 1:30pm. You’ll return between 11:00am–12:00pm or 5:00pm–6:00pm.
Zion Adventures™ 36 Lion Blvd. Springdale, UT
With an impressive track record and consistently glowing feedback, this outfitter has clearly mastered the art of customer service. Staff members like Thomas, Whitney, and Whit get called out by name for their patience, expertise, and genuine care for visitors' experiences. The team takes time to offer thoughtful advice, whether that's helping guests choose the right gear, suggesting realistic itineraries, or even talking people out of overdoing it with back-to-back tours. Their flexibility shines through too, from staying open late for fittings to handling last-minute cancellations and medical emergencies without hassle. The gear rentals for the Narrows are a huge hit, with travelers praising both quality and fair pricing. Guided canyoneering trips and Angels Landing hikes consistently exceed expectations, with guides managing logistics like permits and transportation while keeping groups safe and moving at a comfortable pace. Multiple visitors recommend picking up rental equipment the evening before to catch early shuttles and beat the crowds. The shop also carries solid souvenirs and outdoor brands if you need additional gear. Bottom line: this is the kind of reliable, customer-focused operation that makes exploring Zion's challenging terrain feel accessible and well-supported.
