Crystal and TJ consistently earn praise for being genuine, knowledgeable guides who prioritize safety while delivering thrilling off-road adventures. Reviewers love their "slow and safe" approach that still pushes the limits, whether you're tackling challenging rock crawling obstacles or exploring sand dunes. They're experts at navigating Sand Hollow's complex trail system, which apparently criss-crosses in confusing ways, and they excel at spotting for drivers attempting difficult terrain. Multiple visitors mention their clear communication, patience with first-timers, and ability to make families feel comfortable. The operation goes beyond just tours. They offer Jeep rentals, spotting services for solo wheelers, and even helped stranded drivers with quick recovery and repair connections. People appreciate the thoughtful touches like providing food and drinks, taking photos and videos, and using two vehicles for added safety. Whether you're bringing your own rig or renting theirs, groups consistently describe their experiences as unforgettable and worth every penny, with many already planning return visits.
If you’re on the fence about booking with Crystal and TJ at Sand Hollow 4x4 — do it. We brought my Bronco out for a BYOV night run and had an absolute blast. These guys know Sand Hollow inside and out. They put us on lines and obstacles I never would’ve attempted on my own, coached us through technical crawling without overcomplicating it, and helped me learn what the Bronco is actually capable of. By the end of the trip, my confidence driving the rig had completely changed. The night wheeling was unreal — slickrock, steep climbs, crazy views, and ripping through the dunes under the stars. We had so much fun we booked a second evening run two days later. That one somehow topped the first. What stood out most was how much TJ and Crystal genuinely care about the experience. They’re hardcore off-roaders, but also great teachers who make you feel comfortable pushing your vehicle without beating it up. We wheeled hard, learned a ton, and somehow made it through without a scratch on the Bronco. By the end of the tours, we were confident enough to go back and run one of the trails ourselves. That says everything. Some of the most fun I’ve ever had behind the wheel. We’ll 100% be back.
