    Piney River 5-Mile Kayak Rental

Float the Piney River at your own pace with shuttle transport and gear included

    4.6 stars• 550 reviews

    Duration

    3–6 hours

    Includes

    Life jacket, paddle, transport

    Highlights

Drift along an approximately 5-mile stretch of the scenic Piney River, with time to enjoy the water your way. Stop along gravel bars to fish, swim, or picnic as you float downstream.

    • Float a scenic 5-mile section of the Piney River
    • Stop to fish, swim, or picnic on gravel bars
    • Choose from single-person sit-on-top or sit-in kayaks, subject to availability
    • Follow the river at your own pace

    Itinerary

    1. After parking, guests will check-in at the office inside the barn. Each guest will receive an armband, life vest, and paddle (on the weekends, you will get your paddle at the launch point).
    2. Guests then wait in a shaded area for a shuttle to return for pick-up.
    3. Our shuttle then takes you to our launch point, where you pick out your boat.
    4. Use the ramp to slide your boat down the hill. Holding onto the rope from behind the boat, let your boat slide down in front of you. Please do not push your boat down the ramp like it's a bob sled. This isn't safe and can also damage the boat.
    5. At the bottom of the ramp, you will put in at a creek the runs into the Piney River shortly down. Go left, downriver, out of that creek.
    6. You will go under 2 bridges along your float. The first bridge marks about 1/4 of your journey. The second bridge, about 2/3. You'll arrive at our takeout soon after the 2nd bridge, keep your eyes peeled so you don't pass it.
    7. There are metal canoe signs on the right side of the river telling you you're almost there. The takeout is right past those signs.
    8. Please pull your boats onto the gravel bar away from the water so it doesn't float away.
    9. Clean out any trash and belongings, drain any water inside, and flip your boat over.
    10. Take your paddle and life vest to the office staff so they can check them and your group back in (Failure to check in rental gear could result in fees being charged).
