Piney River Tandem Kayak Rental

Explore an approximately 5-mile stretch of the Piney River in a tandem kayak. Set your own pace, with time to enjoy the river along the way.

Itinerary

1. Check in at the office inside the barn and receive an armband, life vest, and paddle (weekend paddles provided at the launch point).
2. Wait in the shaded area for a shuttle to the launch point.
3. Shuttle transports you to the launch point where you pick out your tandem kayak.
4. Use the ramp to slide your boat down to the creek that leads into the Piney River and launch by going left downriver.
5. Float under two bridges (first ≈1/4 of journey, second ≈2/3) and watch for the takeout shortly after the second bridge.

Important details

• Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
• Requires good health and the ability to handle strenuous activity
• Check in within 1 hour of your scheduled arrival time and be on the river by 3 PM
• Wear a life vest while in the boat if age 12 or under; keep a life vest available for everyone
• Return all equipment to office staff by 7 PM; late returns incur a $1-per-minute fee not included in the listed price
• Lost, unreturned, or damaged equipment incurs additional fees not included in the listed price
• Leave glass and Styrofoam behind, and do not trespass on others' property
• Clean out your boat and dispose of trash in trash cans before returning it
• Use Hwy 48 to Cash Hollow Road; other routes may be rough or impassable for smaller vehicles
