Naturalist guide, Restrooms
Cruise the protected waters of Frenchman Bay on a 2-hour tour of Acadia's rugged shores. A professional naturalist shares stories as you watch for wildlife; amenities include restrooms and a galley with snacks and beverages.
All guests, including infants, need tickets. Arrive 45–60 minutes early; seating is first come, first served. Vessels are wheelchair accessible; leashed dogs are welcome; small strollers only; no smoking, vaping, alcohol, glass, hard coolers, or weapons.
Cancel up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund. Cancellations less than 24 hours may be charged in full. Operator cancellations due to weather or other circumstances receive a full refund; trips may cancel up to 30–60 minutes before departure. No-shows are charged the full price.

This operator consistently delivers memorable whale watching experiences with friendly, knowledgeable crew members who really enhance the trip. Hugo gets multiple shout-outs for his excellent commentary and wealth of information. Guests regularly spot multiple whales, and many trips also feature bonus sightings of dolphins, puffins, and seals. The educational narration stands out, and travelers appreciate that ticket proceeds support ocean conservation efforts. Weather can definitely be a factor, but the company earns respect for canceling trips when conditions aren't ideal rather than taking people out in rough seas with little chance of success. The top deck offers great views but gets significantly colder and windier than you'd expect, sometimes dropping 20 degrees, so layers and rain gear are essential. Several guests mention the indoor viewing areas work just as well for spotting wildlife while keeping you comfortable. Arrive early if you want prime spots on the top deck. Tours can run long (up to 6 hours), but guests say it's worth the time investment when you're out there witnessing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

My husband and I decided to make the whale watching an activity during our honeymoon, and we’re so glad we did.
