Anna Maria Island Dolphin Tours delivers consistently excellent experiences with their knowledgeable captains who clearly know these waters inside and out. Reviewers rave about guides like Chad, Ben, Mike, and JD who grew up in the area and share fascinating local insights while getting dolphins to playfully ride in the boat's wake. The captains strike a nice balance between providing information and letting guests simply relax and enjoy the scenery. Both private charters and public tours get high marks, with the company showing impressive flexibility when weather isn't cooperating. Dolphin sightings are reliably strong even during off-season, with most groups spotting multiple pods throughout their trips. The boats are comfortable with bathroom facilities, and guests appreciate being able to bring their own snacks and drinks. One reviewer noted difficulty hearing the captain on a crowded public tour, and another felt the experience was just okay if you've already seen dolphins extensively elsewhere. Still, the overwhelming majority describe these tours as vacation highlights, with friendly captains creating memorable family outings whether you're celebrating an anniversary or just exploring the island.
We booked the public sunset cruise. The boat tour was incredible and we were able to see nearly a dozen dolphins despite it being the off season. Our captain was extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. Would highly recommend!
