Backcountry Snowmobiling invites you to roam 40,000 private acres of pristine Uinta Mountain powder with guides who know every hidden meadow and panoramic ridge. Launching from a 7,500-foot base camp, tours are custom-fit for all ...
Families, first-timers, and experienced riders consistently rave about their adventures with this outfit. The guides—Sara, Gage, Dan, Connor, and Nathan among them—earn special praise for being patient instructors who balance safety with genuine fun. They're knowledgeable about local geology and wildlife (moose sightings are common!), and they know how to read their groups, adjusting the experience from cautious beginners to those wanting more speed. The snowmobiles are well-maintained, and the routes mix scenic mountain trails with open field areas where you can really open up the throttle. The tours hit a sweet spot between structured and playful. Expect groomed trail riding up into higher elevations combined with time in open fields to race around at your own pace. Multiple reviews mention thoughtful touches like a warming hut with hot cocoa and cookies, photo stops at scenic viewpoints, and even snowball fights with younger guests. One traveler noted the 3-hour tour provides more playtime than the 2-hour option, which focuses more on the journey itself. This appears to be a genuine family operation where the owners are responsive and the whole crew, including the friendly dogs greeting you at the trailhead, makes you feel welcome.
A must try and not far from Park City! Everything was smooth from the booking process to renting the gear we didn’t have. The views were incredible and we even saw some wildlife with a Moose wandering near the trail. The tour was a great pace and tons of fun with some free time to really open it up in some meadows. Thank you Backcountry Snowmobiling for a wonderful experience…and Dan is the man!
