Founded by Mobile natives Chris and Laney Andrews, Bienville Bites is the city’s original guided food tour, blending Gulf Coast flavors with three centuries of colorful history in an easy, engaging stroll. Named Best Food Tour in ...
Bienville Bites delivers an exceptional food tour experience through Mobile, thanks largely to their outstanding guides. Bella, Lee, and Cynthia each get enthusiastic shoutouts for being knowledgeable, entertaining, and genuinely passionate about sharing the city's history and culinary scene. Guests consistently praise how the guides connect personally with everyone in the group and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like exploring the city with a local friend. The food itself gets rave reviews, with generous portions at every stop ranging from fried green tomatoes and oysters to smoked ribs and beignets. One reviewer specifically warns to come hungry because there's truly a lot to eat! Tours strike an ideal balance between walking and air-conditioned breaks, making them comfortable even on warm days. The intimate group sizes keep things personal, and guides are flexible enough to adjust timing when needed. Multiple reviewers mention leaving with restaurant recommendations for the rest of their stay, with some wishing they'd done the tour at the start of their trip instead of the end.
Hats off to our tour guide, Marissa! Not only was the food delicious, she was very knowledgeable about Mobile, and we learned so much about the city and its rich history. Thanks to Chris, the owner, for making sure we made it back to our train in time. Due to the tour ending at 4:30 pm, and our train leaving at 4:30 pm, He set up a golf cart ride that picked us up a little early from the 2nd to last restaurant, stopped us at the last restaurant to pick up our beignets, and we made it to the train at 4 pm. This food tour was the perfect way to end our day trip and head back to New Orleans, LA. This is our 2nd tour, we will definitely be back for tour #3.
