This was absolutely the right choice. Coming to Alaska for the first time we wanted to get in as much as we could. One of the advantages of Icy Strait Whale Adventures is there boat and the number of passengers, vice a large ship excursion. You can step out on the bow and also the aft deck once you have reached your destination. The boat is clean, well maintained and very comfortable for an expedition such as this. The Captain, Alona is friendly and focused on getting us to where the whales are, and the guide, Leslie is very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned so much from these two. We saw lots of whales. We were in the midst of them. From the moment we stopped the boat. At one time we had them only about 100’ off the boat, blowing their spouts and doing dives. We got plenty of tail shots. We saw sea lions too. We had a great time. You can’t go wrong with this team. Trust me, you will have a whale of a time!!!
