Ketchikan Wildlife Safari invites you to explore the Tongass Rainforest the way locals do—up close, unhurried, and in comfort. Small-group journeys in heated, WiFi-equipped luxury vans weave through bear country, eagle rookeries, ...
Lauren stands out as the heart of this operation, earning consistent praise for her warm, conversational style and genuine knowledge of the area. Most travelers describe her as welcoming and personable, making guests feel like they're exploring with a friend rather than following a traditional tour guide. The small-group van setup keeps things intimate and comfortable, with stops typically including a totem village, coastal beaches, salmon ladders, and prime wildlife viewing spots at places like Herring Cove. Wildlife sightings seem to vary by season and luck, but many guests report seeing black bears, bald eagles, harbor seals, and salmon. A couple of visitors had disappointing experiences, finding the tour overly crowded or feeling the stops lacked depth and educational content compared to what they expected. However, the overwhelming majority found it an affordable, well-paced way to experience Ketchikan's natural beauty beyond the cruise port, with several families specifically mentioning how much their kids enjoyed the adventure.
I can not say enough good things about this company and how they went above and beyond for my dad and his mobility issues having to unexpectedly use a chair. Despite not having a wheel chair lift they put his chair in the front seat of one of the vans. And had it out anytime he needed it no problem! They even moved the van after everyone got out so he could see the bear and right infront of the waterfall for a perfect view. Above and beyond!!!! We had Leo as a guide. A local resident and his knowledge of everything was absolutely awesome!! We got to see a beautiful side to Ketchikan other than just the downtown! The salmon treat was so dang tasty. A great local treat! Highly recommend booking a tour with them!
