Kō Hana Rum distills the spirit of Hawai‘i from field to glass. On a sun-kissed farm beneath the Ko‘olau Range, heirloom varieties of kō—traditional Hawaiian sugarcane—are hand-harvested, pressed fresh, and pot-distilled into pure...
This Hawaiian distillery has carved out a reputation as a genuine hidden gem for rum enthusiasts and curious visitors alike. The tours consistently impress, with guides like Victor, Savannah, and G earning specific praise for their knowledge and friendly storytelling about the sugarcane-to-bottle process. Guests get to explore the barrel house, learn about different cane varietals, and understand the aging techniques that make these rums special. The tasting experience is clearly the highlight, with reviewers raving about the generous pours and elegant flavors despite the high proof (ranging from 90 to 120). Beyond the rum itself, you can sample their ready-to-drink cocktails, barrel-aged honey, and even hot sauce. The staff creates a welcoming atmosphere, and the countryside setting adds to the charm. Smart tip from repeat Hawaii visitors: buy your bottles here rather than at the airport where prices reportedly double, and they'll ship purchases home if needed.
A really great experience! We had the rum tasting (they have different types) and the cocktail tasting. They were all very good, and afterwards we were able to have a short class on how to make two cocktails, which was fantastic.
