Family-owned since 1994, Lofty Peaks Adventures opens the door to Utah’s most breathtaking backcountry by dirt, water, and snow. Holding a coveted U.S. Forest Service permit, they guide guests to hidden alpine trails and 11,000-fo...
This outfit near Park City has built a loyal following with their snowmobiling and UTV adventures, and it's easy to see why from the feedback. Guides like Chad, Garrett, Brent, and Carter get mentioned by name repeatedly for being knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely fun to ride with. They clearly know the terrain well, taking groups up to 10,000 feet for stunning views of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. What really stands out is how much freedom they give riders—plenty of time to explore off-trail, play in powder, and really experience the backcountry rather than just following a boring route. The flexibility here is impressive. Multiple families mention how the team accommodated weather changes, offered both guided tours and rentals, and even had UTVs available when other places had already switched to winter equipment. Janelle in the office gets specific praise for being helpful and accommodating with booking. A couple reviews mention occasional customer service hiccups, but the overwhelming majority describe staff as friendly and welcoming. These tours run year-round with different activities depending on season, and returning customers clearly trust them to deliver great experiences whether there's snow on the ground or not.
We spent Thanksgiving week in Park City, hoping for fresh powder, but the weather was frustratingly dry with no snow, leaving us with a lot of unexpected free time. Lofty Peaks Adventures in Heber was our absolute saving grace! When every other outfitter was already switching their inventory to snowmobiles, Lofty Peaks was still running UTV rentals. With just one day's notice, we were able to secure a 4-person Can-Am Maverick. We opted to join a guided tour, and to our complete surprise, the other group had to cancel, leaving us with a private, personalized tour—and it was truly wonderful. Our guide, Garret, was simply awesome! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, genuinely fun to chat with, and instantly made us feel comfortable. He even got us up to 10k feet to get that snow for our kids to play in, which was a huge highlight. We were having so much fun that we didn't even realize we had been out a little longer than our scheduled booking, which really speaks to how much they make you feel like family rather than just another tourist. This unexpected UTV tour turned a potentially boring trip into an unforgettable adventure. We can't wait until our next visit to Heber/Park City so we can have some more fun with the fantastic crew at Lofty Peaks! Highly, highly recommend them!
