Owned by UW–Madison grads Garret and Jade Olsen, Madison Adventure Tours shows off the city the way locals love it—on smooth, whisper-quiet eBikes. Small-group rides glide past lakefronts, campus landmarks, murals, and hidden gems...
Madison's e-bike tours, led by guides like Chris, Greg, and Bill, have earned a rock-solid reputation for blending city history with genuinely fun riding. The guides stand out as the clear highlight, praised consistently for being knowledgeable, patient, and entertaining without being overly scripted. First-timers on e-bikes have nothing to worry about either, as the guides walk everyone through the basics before heading out, and the well-maintained bikes make the learning curve easy. Families, solo travelers, and couples all seem to find something to love here. The routes cover a solid cross-section of the city, and the relaxed pace means you actually absorb what you're seeing rather than just pedaling past it. One history enthusiast did wish for a bit more depth at certain stops, but that feels like a minor note in an otherwise glowing track record. If you're trying to get a real feel for Madison in a single outing, this is a smart way to do it.
This is a well run company! The bikes are really nice and comfortable. If you want to learn about Madison in one day this is the tour you want to go on .We got some exercise in the process (without overdoing it) and saw some really beautiful scenery. Chris our guide knows Madison inside & out plus he used to be a triathlete which is cool. He also brought water and made the voyage funny and enjoyable. I think they should add on an optional after ride stop at the German restaurant for pretzels and beer. I don't know how popular it would be but it could be worth trying out. Post ride survey and relevant link to thank tour guide.
