Maui Goat Yoga is the original, award-winning goat-yoga experience in Upcountry Maui. Led by a Native Hawaiian family, classes unfold on open farmland with sweeping views of Haleakala and the sparkling coastline. Certified instruc...
This upcountry experience has visitors grinning from start to finish, combining legitimate yoga instruction with the unpredictable antics of playful baby goats. The gorgeous mountain location in Kula delivers sweeping coastal views and perfect weather, while the welcoming owners go out of their way to ensure everyone gets great photos and cuddle time with the gentle, well-cared-for goats. The yoga instructor strikes the right balance, keeping things accessible for all skill levels while delivering an actual workout. What makes this such a winner is how it exceeds expectations as more than just a novelty. Guests consistently mention belly laughs, the warm aloha spirit from hosts who share island trivia, and how accommodating the staff is about everything from photos to timing. Many visitors return every time they're on island and bring friends and family along. Just wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty, and consider stopping at Grandma's Coffee House next door afterward. It's become a must-do activity that people are still talking about hours (and visits) later.
This was our second visit to Maui Goat Yoga, we came back 2 years later with more of the family. The goats are so adorable, cuddly and playful - one of the goats (Arial) just plopped her head in my lap the whole class just to get some neck scratches. The view is stunning and Wendy and Kai are such kind and generous hosts. Don't expect a rigorous yoga class, the yoga is kind of secondary to the joy of the goats, but they state all that up front. Highly recommend as a unique way to see Up Country!
