This conservation-focused operation consistently delivers memorable marine experiences with passionate, knowledgeable crew members who clearly love what they do. The naturalists and captains get high marks for being both educational and entertaining, sharing fascinating whale facts while the hydrophone lets you actually hear the animals. Multiple reviewers mention emotional, even life-changing encounters with humpbacks breaching close to the boats, and the snorkeling tours to Molokini come with quality gear, turtle sightings, and surprisingly good onboard meals. The boats do carry large groups (around 110 people), which some note feels less intimate and more production-line than smaller operators. Still, crews work hard to maintain a welcoming atmosphere despite the crowds. The retail shop is helpful (staff went above and beyond for one visitor on a holiday) though merchandise prices run high. Your booking supports their nonprofit conservation work, and long-time members return year after year, which speaks volumes. Book during whale season and reserve in advance since tours fill up quickly.

Did the snorkel tour to Lanai and it was lovely. Our trip was blessed to have many wildlife sightings including whales and dolphin pods on the way to and from the snorkel spot, even though it's nearly the end of whale season. Staff were so friendly and enthusiastic. The food was a welcome addition, the captain's grilled chicken was the highlight of the spread to me. We were hoping the onboard photographer's photos would turn out a little better, but the memories we made are well worth it. Plus, as a non-profit it all goes to a great cause.
