Family-owned Ragin Cajun Airboat Tours gives guests the rare chance to skim across private Louisiana bayous just minutes from the French Quarter. Because the company operates its own fleet on exclusive waterways, you won’t jostle ...
Visitors consistently rave about the quality of the guides here, with names like Corey, Garrett, Josh, Jamie, and Jesse earning special shoutouts for being knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the swamps. The staff clearly loves what they do, and it shows in how they share stories, point out wildlife, and create an educational yet thrilling experience. Families especially appreciate the accommodating nature of the crew, including their patience with special needs guests. The wildlife viewing delivers in a big way. Expect to see plenty of alligators (some tours spot 20-30!), including adorable babies, and many visitors get the unforgettable chance to feed them marshmallows. Beyond gators, guests regularly encounter raccoons, diverse bird species, and stunning swamp scenery filled with beautiful plants and textures. The tours operate on private, protected land, which seems to make for reliable wildlife sightings. Just remember to bring sunscreen, water, and a hat since it gets hot out there. This consistently ranks as a highlight of people's New Orleans trips.
We took the 6 person Airboat Tour at Sunset. It was the highlight of our trip! Our guide, Cam was super fun and interesting. I never knew how fun an airboat could be! And even though we are from South Texas, it was so cool to see so many alligators in the wild. He even caught a couple of small ones with his bare hands to show us up close! We would highly recommend this tour!
