We took a 2 hour trail ride from the stables to South Lake. Reserving our day was very easy and quick. The trail was rugged and rocky, but the mules navigated the terrain as they do hundreds of times a year. It was a great experience and fun for the whole family. You don't need a lot of experience if you've never been on a horse or mule before, and the animals do most of the work, so you are just along for an enjoyable ride through the mountains. Our guide was very personable and a pleasure to be on a ride with and having her dog leading the pack was also fun for all.
