Sky Valley Zip Tours is a family-owned adventure park nestled just outside Blowing Rock in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Since 2012, their passionate guides have helped guests from age 4 to 84 trade screens for treetops on a 140-acre ...
Sky Valley delivers consistently excellent zipline adventures with a perfect safety record and guides who clearly love what they do. Families rave about how the course works for all ages, from kids as young as four to nervous first-timers who end up conquering their fears. The hand-braking system gets special mention for giving riders more control, and the course design cleverly builds confidence with easier lines before progressing to the thrilling "Big Momma" finale. What really sets this operation apart is the guide team. Names like Will, Jake, Lars, Max, and Anna pop up repeatedly, praised for being professional, funny, and genuinely invested in making everyone feel safe and comfortable. They explain the "why" behind instructions, crack jokes to ease nerves, and somehow turn groups of strangers into cheerleaders for each other by the tour's end. The stunning mountain views and well-maintained property add to an experience that many families call their favorite zipline adventure. One reviewer mentioned waiting times with larger groups, but the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive about both the thrilling course and the people running it.
The guides were absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable and very safety focused. Had a wonderful time, very exhilarating activity! One note though, I think the harnesses and helmets need to be disenfected more often, they kinda smelled like dried sweat, and I broke out in a rash from the helmet. In all fairness, I'm prone to contact dermatitis. All in all I still have to say that this was the best thing I've ever experienced, in all of my 56 years!
